The Sadia brand is a subsidiary of Brazilian food company BRF, which was created in 2009 with the merger of Sadia and Perdigao. The merger was finalised in 2012 and since then BRF has gone on to become the seventh largest food company in the world by market value, and the second largest in Brazil behind JBS. BRF is listed on Bovespa and the New York Stock Exchange. BRF’s Abu Dhabi plant in Kizad, opened in 2014, is the company’s largest outside of South America. It was set up with the aim of allowing the Sadia brand to expand in global markets. Sadia operates in the sectors of meat, industrialised meats, margarines, pastas, pizzas, frozen vegetables and dairy.
